MOVE THE MOUNTAIN

VOLLUNTEER AT A WEEKLY MEETING

Bring in a Meal:

In Circles we begin each Weekly Meeting by eating a meal together. This is an important piece of the Circles Initiative, as it allows for people from various ethnic backgrounds, skin color, economic class, age, etc. a chance to sit around a table together and learn to love and understand each other in spite of these differences. The relationships that develop around the dinner table are the foundation for everything else in Circles.

We are able to have a meal because of the willingness of those who sign up for a week to prepare a meal—but we also have lots of openings in the schedule for more volunteers. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity to volunteer, call or e-mail us!

 Help with the Youth Program:

After the meal the Circle Leaders (families working to get out of poverty) meet to work on their goals, meet with Allies, or other things related to their goals. We have started a Youth Program so that parents can have the freedom to meet and work to accomplish their goals and reach self-sufficiency. If you enjoy working with children, this is an excellent opportunity to help support families who are working to get out of poverty—and it’s fun!  In the Youth Program we do activities such tutoring during homework time, play games, teach new activities or skills, etc.

We have need for some more volunteers in order to continue to offer a quality Youth Program to the children in Circles.  If you would like to sign up for a week to help in the Youth Program, call or e-mail us!
